Overseas Shipholding filed with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court a motion to retain Venable (Contact: Judson W. Starr) as special litigation counsel at the following hourly rates: Judson W. Starr at $925; David G. Dickman at 670; Monica D. Gibson at 660; Amy J. McMaster at 620 and Ashleigh A. Allione at 225. The motion explains, “The Debtors seek to retain Venable as non-ordinary course professional special litigation counsel to assist them in defending against allegations of improper discharge aboard a single vessel. The Debtors have selected Venable because of its knowledge of the Debtors’ business and operations, which it gained through former representation of the Debtors in a similar matter. Given Venable’s knowledge and experience with relevant litigations and investigations, including its prior capable representation of the Debtors, it is unquestionable that the employment of Venable is in the best interests of the Debtors and the Debtors’ estates.”
