Houlihan Lokey announced that it has opened an office in Sydney, Australia, hiring an experienced local management team to lead the firm’s expansion in the country. The Sydney office will be jointly led by Nicholas Rowe, Oscar Ludwigson and David Tozer, all of whom have worked together over several years while at ABN AMRO, RBS and CIMB Securities and have significant expertise in mergers and acquisitions, capital markets and financial restructuring.
Operations will initially focus on advising clients on corporate finance and restructuring matters, although the firm will eventually offer clients its full suite of products and services across its four main businesses, comprising Corporate Finance, Financial Restructuring, Financial Advisory Services and Strategic Consulting. Separately, Houlihan Lokey also announced its acquisition of Bridge Strategy Group (Bridge) following a strategic investment announced in August. Bridge is a Chicago, IL-based management consulting firm focused on strategy, operations and performance improvement. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The Bridge team will form Houlihan Lokey’s Strategic Consulting business, led by Bridge C.E.O. Steve Sheridan. As a new business line, Strategic Consulting will sit alongside the firm’s other major businesses which include Corporate Finance, Financial Restructuring and Financial Advisory Services. Bridge was founded in 1998 by alumni of McKinsey & Co. to work with Boards, senior management teams and financial sponsors in addressing critical issues that often require a unique blend of strategic, operational, organizational and technology solutions.
