According to the U.S. Bankruptcy Court docket, Pocahontas Land Company (PLC) and United Mine Works of America filed separate limited objections to Alpha Natural Resources’ (ANR) bidding and sale procedures for certain mining properties and related assets.

Pocahontas Land Company states, “Although PLC has no objection to the majority of the relief requested by the Debtors in the Procedures Motion, PLC objects to the Procedures Motion to the extent that anything in the Procedures Motion is intended, or could be constructed, to alter or relieve the Debtors or any proposed assignee of a PLC Lease of any requirements under section 365 of the Bankruptcy Code and the specific terms of the PLC Leases.”

The proposed deadline to submit qualified competing bids is January 20, 2016 and an auction, if necessary, would be conducted on January 27, 2016. Read more ANR bankruptcy news.
